Is there a permanent cure for psoriasis?

Cure for psoriasis

Everyone wants to know if a disease is curable. And likewise people ask is there a permanent cure for psoriasis? Unfortunately there is no cure for psoriasis yet. But biotechnologists and scientists are constantly working on new methods to come up with that can help alleviate some of the pain and distress it causes. In the meantime, they are also looking for a cure and plan to come up with an answer when the time is right. Until then, we can try different ways to reduce the effect of psoriasis by taking the correct steps in the direction of a good balanced diet, ointment and creams with relevant ingredients to help with the condition, and trying to restrain from bad habits that are known to worsen psoriasis for example consuming alcohol. Psoriasis is a very common skin disease and affects more than 125 million people throughout the world. And because of its itchy and uncomfortable nature, people tend to seek riddance from it.

Background of the disease:

Psoriasis is a condition of the skin that causes dry patches with scales to form all over the body. These patches are rough accumulations of dead skin cells as they grow rapidly in this condition. They also form scales, become extremely itchy and often cause pain when irritated through scratching. It is an autoimmune disease where the immune system of the body mistakes the healthy cells as threat and tries to eradicate them. This causes the healthy skin cells to grow out and get replaced at a much higher rate than normal. Almost one-third of the people with psoriasis may also have a condition called psoriasis arthritis which affects the joints and renders mobility of the body, useless. In many cases, psoriasis can go away and get triggered again. The best way to deal with this is to follow a skin care routine with proper word from the dermatologist, the best emollients that work for you, and keeping a healthy food intake.

Future for the disease:

Psoriasis has been around for a very long time now. Scientists are trying their best to come up with a cure to eradicate the condition, but have failed to do so far. This does not mean, in any way, that there will be no cure. This disease is far too widespread to be left untreated. There are constant advancements in both the treatment and cure department for psoriasis daily which restores our faith for a brighter, psoriasis-free future. Till then, treatments like phototherapy, topical and balanced diet with minimal to no alcohol consumption, are around for us to follow.

Conclusion:

The best thing we can do to help ourselves till the cure comes out, is to avoid everything that makes it worse. Everything from consuming fat heavy and unhealthy food, to drinking alcohol should and must be avoided. Nothing is more important than life, and to take care of it should be everyone’s first priority. Till a cure is out, let’s do the best we can on our part to alleviate the severity of psoriasis.
